Man pleads guilty to killing dog with explosive device

STEVENSON, Wash. - A Washington man has pleaded guilty to killing his dog by attaching a homemade bomb around its neck.

Police said Christopher Dillingham killed the dog in August of 2013 because he believed it had the "devil in it."

He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of an explosive device without a license and animal cruelty in the 1st degree. He received one year for each count, but he is allowed to serve his time concurrently.

According to court documents, deputies were called to Dillingham's home at about 4 a.m. and discovered him ransacking his house. They found the dead yellow lab, named Cabela, decapitated.
