Man robs NE Portland hotel at gunpoint, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police are looking for a man who robbed a Northeast Portland hotel at gunpoint early Monday morning.

It happened at 3:20 a.m. at the Residence Inn Marriott, located at 1710 Northeast Multnomah Street, police said.

An employee told police the suspect entered the hotel and walked behind the counter. When the employee told the suspect he couldn't do that, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect left the hotel with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt.

Police officers and a K-9 unit searched the area, but came up empty.

Police are looking for a Hispanic man in his 40s or 50s who is 5-foot-9. He was wearing a dark-colored bandana over his face, a green jacket and dark-colored pants.
