MAX and truck collide on North Interstate, Yellow Line disrupted
PORTLAND, Ore. —
A truck and a MAX train collided Tuesday night on North Interstate near Going, disrupting Yellow Line service.
The truck was a tractor-trailer and the collision derailed the rain.
Police said they believe the MAX was heading south on Interstate when the truck ran a red light and struck the train at around 8 p.m. But the crash is still under investigation.
Crews were able to get the train back on the tracks around 10:30 p.m., but traffic was still impacted in the area and light rail service had not yet resumed as of 11 p.m.
TriMet says it is using shuttle buses to serve stations between the Expo Center and the Rose Quarter.
The agency says riders should expect delays.
No one was seriously injured.
