Medical problem causes driver to crash into house, police say
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A woman had a medical problem behind the wheel of a car and crashed into a house along Northeast 137th Avenue and 45th Street, Vancouver Police said Sunday.
Investigators have not said what type of medical problem caused the crash.
The woman was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
Her car went through a yard, fence, flipped over a truck and smashed through the window of a house where the homeowner and his friend sat inside only a few feet away.
"Just missed those two trees, just missed his jeep you can see the trail," said the homeowner, who only wanted to be identified as Greg. "If she hadn't hit my truck, she would have run right over the top of both of us."
Greg said he tried to check on the woman behind the wheel but she didn't say anything before paramedics arrived.
"It was pretty weird," he said. "It's the type of thing you see on the news but never see in your yard."
