Missing Cowlitz County baby now in custody of protective services

LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Cowlitz County sheriff's deputies say a 1-year-old baby they say was being hidden from authorities by its mother is now in the custody of protective services.

They say the baby of 30-year-old Christina Char Moore was dropped off at the home of a family friend by an unknown woman a little before 3 p.m. Wednesday. The baby was then turned over to child protective services.

Moore was ordered to turn over her baby. Court documents show there was concern for the baby because of Moore's alleged drug use.

Moore was in court Monday, and was told she'd have to hand the child over to protective services on Tuesday.

Deputies said she didn't show up.
