Mother rescues two children who fell through ice into pond

TROUTDALE, Ore. - A mother and two children fell through a pond at Sunrise City Park on Friday, a City of Gresham spokesperson said.

Robin Franzen Parker said the two young boys were submerged up to their necks in the pond.

Their mother jumped in and rescued them, then they walked back home to their apartment.

"Certainly the message we want to get out to the public is it's never safe to walk on a frozen pond," Franzen Parker said. "It's very risky."
