Nationwide warrant issued for suspected Wash. gun shop burglar
GORST, Wash. -- A nationwide warrant was issued Tuesday for the arrest of a 40-year-old Seattle man suspected of stealing more than a dozen guns from a Kitsap County gun store earlier this month.
According to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, Patrick Nelson Jr. stole 14 handguns from Boerner Firearms in Gorst April 9. So far, neither he nor the stolen guns have been found.
Nelson is a convicted felon who was released from prison in February and was under supervision by the Washington State Department of Corrections. He has eight convictions on charges related to illegal drugs, eluding police, assault and theft.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Nelson is known to frequent Clallam and Jefferson counties and has family near Forks.
The Sheriff's Office is currently hoping for tips from the public.
