NWS investigates reports of tornado outside Battle Ground, finds nothing
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Weather officials took reports of a possible tornado in the Battle Ground area on Thursday, however weather officials said they didn't find any evidence to back up the report.
Reports came in about 3:45 p.m. for a "possible funnel cloud or tornado" southeast of Battle Ground.
The National Weather Service told KATU News that one of their employees went out to the area where it was reported and found no evidence that anything touched down.
As of 4:15 p.m., emergency dispatchers said there are no reports of injuries or damage.
The town was hit by a tornado back in December of 2015 that caused some property damage.
April 15, 2017 marked the 45th anniversary of the Pacific Northwest's only deadly tornado, which touched down in Vancouver.
This is a developing story; updates will be posted as information comes in.
