ODF: Wildfire burning near Clatskanie now fully contained
CLATSKANIE, Ore. – Fire officials are investigating the cause of a wildfire that started southwest of Clatskanie Sunday.
The fire was reported at 11:30 a.m.
It was burning on private land that’s used for logging.
It burned a total of 29 acres.
Monday morning, the Oregon Department of Forestry reported it was fully contained. However, about 50 fire personnel will remain on scene to mop up hot spots.
The fire has not injured anyone and is not threatening any structures, the department of forestry said.
The fire caused officials to close Highway 47 about four miles south of Clatskanie Sunday.
