Open houses planned for 'congestion pricing'
PORTLAND, Ore. —
The Oregon Department of Transportation has announced a new round of public meetings over its plan to use “congestion pricing” on Interstate 5 and Interstate 205.
The idea involves adding toll lanes to the interstates with pricing adjusted to the amount of traffic. The goal is to encourage people to take other routes during rush hour.
ODOT wants you to weigh in at four open houses this month in Oregon City, Tigard and Southeast and Northeast Portland.
Residents across the river have also been debating and expressing their concerns over the proposal.
