Oregon refuge occupier posts video saying goodbye to family in Arizona prior to arrest
A man who has spent most of the past month in Oregon at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge occupation posted a video of himself saying goodbye to his family in Arizona prior to surrendering to police.
Jon Ritzheimer, who often posted videos to his Facebook page throughout the 24-day occupation in Oregon, turned himself in to the Peora, Arizona police department Tuesday evening and was arrested on federal charges.
Several hours prior, one militia member was killed and seven others were arrested following a violent confrontation with the FBI and Oregon State police.
About an hour prior to turning himself in, he posted a video of himself hugging his daughters and pleading supporters to send him money to cover attorney fees.
