Oregon teenager killed in I-215 rollover accident in Utah
TAYLORSVILLE — (KUTV) - A teenager from Oregon is dead after the SUV he was riding in rolled over after his mother fell asleep at the wheel.
19-year-old Cage Patterson of Westfir, Oregon died from injuries in the accident.
All other occupants, a mother a father and another male son were all taken to IMC Hospital with minor injuries.
Everyone was wearing their seatbelt.
At 8:07 a.m. Saturday morning a 2004 Dodge Durango was headed south on I-215 West in the curve where the freeway turns into I-215 South Eastbound.
Utah Highway Patrol says the mother appears to have fallen asleep at the wheel. She then overcorrected and the Durango went off the side of the road, rolling into a cement wall.
The family from Westfir, Oregon was headed to Cottonwood Heights to visit family for the holidays.
