Oregon woman found guilty in crash that ejected, killed her 6-year-old daughter
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A jury has convicted a woman of manslaughter and assault charges in a car crash near Medford that killed her daughter and injured her son.
The Mail Tribune reports 28-year-old Necia Hanson was found guilty Wednesday of manslaughter and assault in the crash that killed 6-year-old Bella Keesee and injured Bernie Keesee in April 2016.
The jury acquitted Hanson on a more serious count of first-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Hanson was driving on Blackwell Road near Dean Creek Road when she reportedly veered her car into a semitrailer headed in the opposite direction.
Her daughter was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
A sentencing hearing is set for May 17.
