PBOT paints student's designs for bike lane symbols on Portland streets

PORTLAND, Ore. – Bicyclists in Portland will soon see some new colorful creations on their commutes.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation gave several bike lane symbols a new paint job, and the artwork is courtesy Multnomah County students!

200 kids submitted their designs this spring, and the winning creations now grace roads close to where each student lives.

That includes Brooklyn Kavanaugh's spaceman at SE Taylor and Cesar Chavez and Vivian Jacobsen's "singing bicycle" at SE 122nd and Morrison.
