Police: Autopsy findings lead to arrest of man for uncle's murder

PORTLAND, Ore. - A man is in jail for the murder of his uncle, Portland police said.

Detectives arrested Matt Bigboy, 22, of Portland on Sunday in connection to the murder of Eugene Bigboy, 61, after an autopsy showed Eugene Bigboy died of 'homicidal violence.'

Portland Police said officers went to check on the 61-year-old in Northeast Portland on March 10 because after they learned he was in poor health and had several medical problems. It did not appear a crime was committed until after the autopsy, according to police.

Investigators linked Matt Bigboy to his uncle's death and arrested him at his home on North Fowler Sunday. Neighbors in the area tell KATU News they saw several police vehicles, including a forensic truck.

Matt Bigboy has a criminal history, including felonies. He was arrested for shooting at Sacajawea School in July 2010. One bullet went through a window but no one was hurt.

Bigboy is expected to be in Multnomah County Court on Monday.
