Police can't find crime scene after man shot in both legs goes to ER
PORTLAND, Ore. - A man who was shot in both legs early Saturday morning said it happened in S.E. Portland, but police weren't able to find a crime scene.
Police were called to the emergency room at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center to talk to the man, who said he'd been shot somewhere between S.E. 72nd and 85 Ave. along either Division or Powell.
Police checked the area and couldn't find a crime scene, and there were no 911 calls about gunshots anywhere in Multnomah County.
The man's injuries weren't life-threatening.
Police said preliminary information led them to call in the gang-enforcement team to investigate.
