Police catch bank robbery suspects in the act in Wood Village

WOOD VILLAGE, Ore. - Detectives searching for a pair of suspected bank robbers in the Portland area found them in the middle of another heist, according to investigators.

Officers were investigating Wednesday night when they said they say Ryan Beisley and Travis Johnson trying to rob a bank inside the Fred Meyer on NE Park Lane in Wood Village.

The men tried to run, but detectives caught up to them. Beisley and Johnson now face federal charges.

Police described the men as "serial bank robbers" but did not say how exactly many banks the pair was accused of holding up.

All the banks they are suspected of robbing were hit over the course of the past several days.
