Police: Driver strikes two young children in Northeast Portland crosswalk
PORTLAND, Ore. – Emergency personnel responded to Northeast Portland Thursday morning for a report of children struck by a vehicle.
The crash was reported at Northeast 148th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street at 6:47 a.m.
When they arrived, they determined a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old were hit by a vehicle.
Portland police say the two children were in a marked crosswalk with their mother.
Both suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
The driver was turning right at the time of the crash and told police he didn’t see the pedestrians. Police will investigate, but say the driver will likely not face charges.
