Police looking for 2 men approaching children in SUV
WOODLAND, Wash. -- Police are looking for two men who tried to pick up children in a black SUV over the past few days in Woodland.
On Wednesday morning, a child walking to school on Gun Club Road was approached by the men in the SUV and told to come to the vehicle door. One of the men tried to grab the child, but the child got away, according to a news release from the Woodland Police Department.
The principal of the Woodland Intermediate School sent out a letter to parents, notifying them of the "stranger-danger" incident and said several other students have been approached over the past few days and asked if they need a ride to school.
The suspect vehicle is black, or dark-colored with dark wheels and tinted windows, police said. The men are described as white.
The SUV was seen parked at or near the Assembly of God church in the 300 block of Gun Club Road. It also may have been spotted driving on the east side of Woodland, police said.
Anyone who sees the SUV is asked to obtain a license plate number and call 911.
