Police: Man exposed himself to middle school girl

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police in Beaverton arrested a man they said exposed himself several times to a middle school student in an apartment complex parking lot.

On several occasions over the past few weeks investigators said Brian Jewell drove his white Toyota Yaris through the complex and pulled up next to the girl.

In each case Jewell, 41, exposed his genitals with the passenger window rolled down, according to Beaverton Police spokesman Mike Rowe.

"The suspect would not say anything to the victim but would just watch her," Rowe said in a news release.

The girl reported the incidents to police. Detectives and the district's school resource officer then set up a sting to try and catch Jewell in the act, Rowe said.

Investigators had a plain-clothed female officer walk near the bus stop. On Thursday morning the officer saw Jewell walking down the street with a hand in his un-zipped pants while apparently pleasuring himself, Rowe said.

Officers moved in and arrested Jewell at the Wyndham Park Apartments on Scholls Ferry Road, where they said he lives.

Rowe said if anyone else saw Jewell committing a crime they should call detectives at (503) 629-0111.

Note: Police originally reported the incidents happened at a bus stop, but later said they happened in the apartment parking lot.
