Police say man arrested after threatening to shoot up a Safeway

PORTLAND, Ore. - A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday night after police said he threatened to shoot up a Safeway.

Ajyeman Eugene Rober-Warfield was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree theft.

Police were sent to the Safeway at 5920 MLK Blvd. just after 10:30 p.m. Friday after somebody reported that a man had said he was going to shoot customers and employees. Police said they also found out the man had stolen some things from the store before he made the threats.

When they arrived, police said a sergeant saw the man runaway. They brought a K-9 unit in and tracked down Rober-Warfield.

Police didn't find a gun.
