Police: Sex abuse suspect arrested after grabbing girl at Baskin Robbins

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police arrested a man who they said grabbed a teenage employee at a Baskin Robbins on Sunday night.

It happened at the 6371 SW Capitol Highway location just after 10 p.m., according to police.

The victim told officers the suspect, 44-year-old Themba Hasaan Kelley, grabbed her in a sexual manner.

According to court documents, Kelley walked into the Baskin Robbins as the victim was mopping the floors and preparing to close the store. Court documents reveal that the employee told Kelley he would have to leave soon because she was closing, and Kelley told her she was "innocent and cute."

Court documents show Kelley made graphic sexual comments and gestures toward the victim. Kelley allegedly grabbed the victim in a sexual manner while she was getting a drink of water.

According to court documents, Kelley then asked for the victim's phone number so he could take her on a date later in the week. The victim gave Kelley her phone number in order to appear cooperative. Kelley then left the store and the victim locked the door behind her.

Police searched the area and arrested Kelley on one count of sex abuse in the first degree. Officers are not searching for additional suspects, police said.

No other details were immediately released.
