Portland hiker rescued from Jawbone Flats after becoming ill
MARION COUNTY, Ore. —
A 27-year-old Portland man was rescued from the Jawbone Flats area after he became ill.
According to Marion County Sheriff's Office, the hiker was with his three brothers Saturday afternoon hiking in the Opal Creek Wilderness when he became ill.
Nearly 20 rescuers hiked four miles to rescue him and bring him to the trail head. He was then briefly hospitalized and is expected to be OK.
