Portland included in nation-wide Antifa protest Saturday

Portland is just one of several cities expected to be included in a nationwide Antifa protest Saturday.

Local group Refuse Fascism PDX is organizing Saturday's gathering, set to begin at 2 p.m. at Jamison Square.

The protests come about a year after a wave of protests took over downtown Portland in the wake of Donald Trump's victory.

Saturday's protest has been billed as an "apocalyptic showdown," as right wing publishers refer to it as an attempt to "overthrow the government."

Portland Police say they are "aware of protest events scheduled" and will have "appropriate resources" available should they be needed.
