Portland's RingSide Grill closing after nearly 40 years
PORTLAND, Ore. —
A Portland restaurant that's been in business for nearly four decades is closing its doors.
The RingSide Grill next to the Glendoveer Golf and Tennis Club on Northeast Glisan will serve its last meal at the end of the month.
It is one of three restaurants locally owned by the RingSide Hospitality Group.
The restaurant's closing comes as unwelcome news to Mike Kuiawa, who took his prom date there back in 1982.
“It’s always been a great steakhouse. It was a great steakhouse back then, it’s a great steakhouse today,” he said. “You know, if you don’t serve a good meal, you’re not going to get business, and they’ve always served good meals here. Again, it’s disappointing that’s it’s not going to be here.”
The company says it will try to find positions for about 40 employees at its two other locations.
