Providence Festival of Trees kicks off with auction
PORTLAND, Ore. —
KATU’s Steve Dunn was busy serving as master of ceremonies for the Festival of Trees at the Oregon Convention Center on Thursday night.
It was Dunn's 10th year for hosting duties at the opening gala, and the 35th year of the fundraiser for Providence Medical Center.
They auctioned off 27 trees created by local celebrities and artists.
The event gives families an up-close look at several extravagant holiday displays, along with holiday crafts, Christmas cookies, cocoa and a visit of Santa.
Tickets to see the Festival of Trees are available for Friday and Saturday (Dec. 1 & 2) at the Oregon Convention Center.
This year they have a new addition of "Friday Night, Movie Night” and will be screening “Frosty's Winter Wonderland” and “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.”
