PSU professor's computer catches fire, prompting evacuation

PORTLAND, Ore. – A building on the Portland State University campus was evacuated Wednesday morning when a professor’s computer caught fire.

There were no reports of injuries from Portland Fire & Rescue.

Reports of a fire on the PSU campus came in after 9 a.m. when students saw smoke flowing under a professor’s office door.

Officials at the scene confirmed with KATU that a computer in the office caught fire.

Students and staff were allowed to return around 10:15 a.m. after fire crews worked to clear smoke from the building.
