PSU student arrested in Wash. for armor in locker

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (AP) - The FBI says it has arrested a Portland State University student in his hometown of Battle Ground, Washington, after school officials found body armor in his locker.

The Columbian reports university staff opened the locker after 39-year-old Christopher Rantila didn't pay rent.

School safety officers say they had had issues with the student and contacted Portland police. School spokesman Scott Gallagher says the case was turned over to the FBI in Seattle.

Rantila was arrested and then arraigned Friday on federal charges of being a felon in possession of body armor.
