PSU student wanted for questioning related to firearms, body armor

PORTLAND, Ore. - A Portland State University student is wanted for questioning for unlawful possession of firearms and body armor, according to an alert on the university's website.

The warning posted on Thursday says 39-year-old Christopher Rantila (also known as Christopher Kent) was last known to be on campus on Wednesday. Campus Public Safety believes Rantila is still armed.

Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau told KATU Rantila is "no threat at all."

PSU spokesman Scott Gallagher said the university posted the alert as a safety concern and to help police find Rantila.

Rantila is described as 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who sees Rantila is asked to call 911 or the public safety office at 503-725-4404.
