Season of Giving: Sunshine Division
PORTLAND, Ore. —
KATU News is celebrating the Season of Giving this week, each day bringing you another way you can give back to your community this holiday season.
Sunshine Division was established by the Portland Police Bureau in 1923, and every year since, they've been feeding and clothing under-served members of our community.
The holiday season is often their busiest - this year, they're expecting to feed more than 3,800 households during their Hope for the Holidays event.
You'll see multiple blue barrels throughout Portland at more than 200 locations where you can drop off food.
If you'd like to volunteer for Sunshine Division this holiday season by driving to drop off food to needy families, contact Volunteer Manager Erin Cozart at Erin@sunshinedivision.org.
Volunteers interested in home delivering holiday meals Saturday, Dec. 16 must also fill out an insurance form online before volunteering.
