Sherwood police say no threat exists after investigating social media post
SHERWOOD, Ore. —
Police say they have investigated a threatening post on Snapchat about a possible school shooting and have determined there is no cause for concern.
Sherwood police said a 12-year-old boy with special needs posted the threat. After they spoke to the boy and his parents, they determined no threat existed.
They started investigating the threat after they were called about it at about 5 p.m. Monday.
“This threat was widely seen by the public, and we appreciate all of the calls, and concern to keep everyone safe in our community,” Sherwood police said in a news release. “The calls from those who saw this post, enabled us to act quickly, and determine if there was cause for alarm.”
