Shopping bag causes bomb scare at Woodburn outlets
WOODBURN, Ore. - Someone's holiday shopping spree accidentally turned into a bomb scare in Woodburn on Friday night.
Police got a call from Max Studio in the Woodburn Premium Outlets at 6:08 p.m., reporting a suspicious package in the store. Part of the mall was evacuated, and Woodburn police called in the Oregon State Police bomb squad to investigate the package.
The bomb squad took a picture of the suspicious package, and figured out it was store-bought items.
Police tracked down the owner of the shopping bag, and that person came and picked up the items.
Several stores on the north end of the mall closed until police cleared the scene at 8:45 p.m.
No one was hurt, and police did not arrest anyone.
