Stabbing victim reportedly tells police he fell on broken bottle
SEATTLE -- An uncooperative man with a "gruesome" stab wound to his neck told officers he fell on a broken glass bottle Wednesday night in downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, bicycle officers were dispatched to First Avenue and Lenora Street around 7 p.m. for reports of a stabbing and arrived to find both the victim and suspect covered in blood and running through an alley.
The victim, who had significant injuries to his throat, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for Treatment. He told officers he had fallen on a broken bottle, but his injuries didn't match that story, according to police.
After finding a knife and talking with witnesses, officers arrested the suspect and booked him into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
