Stolen laptop leaves robotics team scrambling before competition

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Thieves leave a Portland high school robotics team scrambling on Monday to prepare for a big science competition just a few days away.

Sometime last week, thieves took a laptop from the FRC Team 1432 which contained all the codes and programming for their robot.

"To us it was everything. We can't do anything without the codes so the robot's not even really alive. It just kind of sits there," said Lewis Hicks, who had his laptop stolen.

FRC Team 1432 is made up mostly of Franklin High School students.

Team members are working as fast as they can to find the right code sequence to make the robot move and perform the tasks needed for it to compete later this week.
