Stretch of SW Alder Street closes again for broken fire service line repairs
PORTLAND, Ore. - Southwest Alder Street closed again Thursday between 4th and 5th Avenues as crews work to repair a fire service line that broke Wednesday morning.
The Portland Water Bureau is still working on the break.
The city says the roadway reopened Wednesday evening for commuters, but closed again Thursday at 7 a.m.
It will remain closed until repairs are completed later in the day Thursday.
City officials ask drivers to stay alert in the area.
To avoid traffic delays, they encourage drivers to use alternate routes around the work site.
