PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland State University sent a warning to students and staff members after a female student reported being sexually assaulted.
The alleged assault happened early in the morning on Sunday, June 1, according to an alert on the university's website. The victim reported the assault on June 3.
The victim said she met the suspect Saturday night. The alleged incident happened in a Broadway Housing room. The suspect is believed to have entered the building lawfully, the university said.
He is described as a white man who is 18-20 years old, 5-foot-8 with a slender build. He has a prominent gap between his front teeth.
PSU campus public safety is investigating. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Matt Horton at 503-725-4404.
PSU says support services from the Women's Resource Center and Student Health and Counseling Services are available for anyone impacted by this incident.
