Survey shows Northwest drivers have little to honk about
PORTLAND, Ore. – A new survey confirms that drivers in the Pacific Northwest have earned a reputation for being polite.
The insurance company, PEMCO, recently asked people in Oregon and Washington a range of questions about car horns, from how often they use their own horns to what they do when someone beeps at them.
According to the survey, 75 percent of the respondents said they rarely, if ever, use their horns.
Most people who spoke to KATU news agreed, they don’t like to use their horns.
Nearly half the people who took the survey said they’re startled when someone honks at them.
