Suspect arrested for manufacturing drugs near school
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Police arrested a suspect early morning Thursday after serving search warrants at two residences, locating cocaine, cash that is believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales and weapon-related items.
Officers arrested 47-year-old Gregory Brown during the warrant in the 7000 block of Northeast 8th Avenue.
Brown was arrested on charges of Manufacture of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a School, Manufacture of Cocaine, Delivery of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a School, Delivery of Cocaine, and Possession of Cocaine.
The Metropolitan Gang Task Force began investigating the homes after members of the community contacted police with concerns about possible criminal and drug activity.
On April 22, 2017, police investigated a shooting that occurred in front of the residence. Officers learned a home across the street from the location was struck by gunfire, which they later learned was also rented by Brown.
