Suspect arrested in sexual assault at SE Portland park

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police arrested a man who they said sexually assaulted a woman in a Southeast Portland park on Thursday.

Michael Jermaine Miranda, 28, faces two counts of second degree sex abuse.

Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault at Lents Park, located at 4727 S.E. 92nd Ave., just after 12 p.m.

Police found the victim, who gave them a description of the suspect and a photo she took with her cellphone. She told officers she had just met Miranda before the alleged assault. Medics took her to a hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

Officers arrested Miranda in the area and took him to the Multnomah County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
