Suspect in SE Portland hit-and-run turns himself in
PORTLAND, Ore. - Police arrested a man in connection with a Jan. 9 hit-and-run that seriously injured a 22-year-old man in Southeast Portland.
Gregory Latoza, 58, turned himself in on Tuesday.
Police said Latoza hit Max Martin with his vehicle at S.E. 31st Avenue and Powell Boulevard and drove away from the scene. Martin suffered traumatic injuries in the crash. He has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, police said.
Investigators learned the location of the suspect's vehicle two days after the crash, according to police.
Latoza faces hit-and-run charges. He's scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
