Washington County Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Bob Ray said a shotgun was used to blow out the rear window of the 2002 GMC Envoy. The blast also damaged its lift gate.

Deputies searched the area of the shooting, which happened in the 1700 block of North Davis but couldn't find a suspect.

Neighbors told deputies that they heard a gunshot between midnight and 1 a.m., but they didn't call 911.

Ray said there are no known suspects and the shooting was possibly random.
