SWAT team searches Ridgefield property after shots fired call

RIDGEFIELD, Wash. - Clark County sheriff's deputies and a SWAT team searched a Ridgefield property Monday night after deputies conducting a welfare check heard gunshots in the area.

No suspects or evidence was found, the sheriff's office said.

Sgt. Duncan Hoss said deputies were called to the 2600 block of Northeast 91st Street to check on someone just before 11 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they heard a man yelling in the distance telling them to "get out of here", Hoss said. That's when they heard what sounded like 10 gunshots.

Deputies took cover and called for more units and a SWAT team to search the area. A Portland police helicopter provided air support during the search.

Hoss says the sheriff's office will continue to investigate the incident.

No other details were immediately released.
