Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Guide

It's one of the busiest travel days of the year as millions take to the roadways, railways and airways for the Thanksgiving holiday. If you're traveling, here are some tips and links to make the trip easier and safe.

Flying? Arrive at least two hours ahead of your flight time to make sure you get checked in, get baggage checked and make it through security lines with time to spare. Get the TSA app

Driving? Save gas by making sure your tires are at correct inflation levels. If you're heading through mountain passes, gas up, carry tire chains as snow is expected and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. Pack some gloves, boots, flares, a flashlight (and/or headlamp), windshield scraper, cold weather gear, water, food, blankets, games for the kids, and a car charger for your cell phone. As always, drive sober and at a safe speed for conditions. Be patient and try to leave early.

Taking the bus or train? Arrive at least an hour ahead of time to get checked in. Both bus and train lines are expected to be busy.
