Traffic now closed on Cesar Chavez Blvd. for up to three weeks
PORTLAND, Ore. - Getting around S.E. Portland will be quite a bit trickier the next three weeks.
Crews shut down Cesar Chavez Blvd. from Hawthorne to Division just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday, beginning what is expected to be a three-week-long project to repair a 120-year-old brick-made sewer line.
One alternative: Head east to 50th Ave.
Crews are hoping the project won't take the full three weeks, but expect snarls in the area in the meantime.
The project is part of a back-to-basics undertaking that will stagger several major projects throughout the summer.
