Tree branch knocks out power in parts of Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - A power outage that was caused by a fallen tree limb turned off the lights in parts of Northeast and Southeast Portland on Tuesday morning.

The branch fell on the cross-arm of pole at the intersection of N.E. Sandy and Imperial, cutting power to 2,900 customers in Multnomah County and several hundred more in Clackamas County.

Crews were able to restore power to Multnomah County customers by 5 a.m., though about 300 Clackamas County residents were still affected at 7 a.m.

PGE said the falling branch was weather-related.
