Truck crash spills lumber onto Highway 101

CLOVERDALE, Ore. - State police cited a commercial truck driver after his big rig crashed on Highway 101 and spilled a load of lumber onto the road Wednesday morning.

It happened 10 miles north of Cloverdale just before 4:30 a.m.

Police said Guy Hollis Jr., 51, was pulling two trailers southbound when his truck crashed into an embankment. The crash caused the truck to detach from the trailers, spilling lumber onto the highway.

Hollis was not hurt. Police cited him for careless driving.

One lane of Highway 101 has been blocked since the crash while crews clean up the scene.
