TV extras needed for HBO pilot filming in Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. – Calling all “Portland hipster types” -- HBO is planning to shoot a new TV pilot in Portland and they are looking for hundreds of extras to appear in the show.
Crews will be filming scenes for the new HBO drama titled “Here, Now” on April 24-26, with some shoots set for N. Mississippi Avenue.
The show stars Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter, and is being produced by Alan Ball of "American Beauty" and "True Blood" fame.
Portland-based casting company Cast Iron Studios put out a call for hundreds of extras for the three-day shoot. The company also cast for the recently-wrapped show “Grimm,” as well as the show “The Librarians” which is also filming in Portland.
They said they’re looking for general background performers, experienced stand-ins, photo doubles, Portland hipster types, and extras who own vehicles, bicycles and pets.
The company said the positions are non-union and will pay minimum wage with an 8-hour guarantee. Other positions can pay $100 to $150 per day.
If you are interested in being an extra, submit a form online by Wednesday evening. They will also have an open casting call on Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their building, 1430 SE 3rd Avenue
According to the website TV Line, the 10-episode show will center around a middle-aged couple and their four kids, three of whom were adopted from Somalia, Vietnam and Colombia.
