Two adults, 1-year-old girl injured in Hwy 18 crash
OTIS, Ore. - A Portland woman and her one-year-old daughter were injured when a van crashed into their car on Highway 18 Wednesday afternoon.
State police said the crash occurred about 14 miles east of Otis in Polk County just after 4 p.m.
Joshua Lesmeister of Tenino, Wash. was driving a van eastbound on the highway when it crossed into the westbound lane and crashed into a Honda Civic.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
Lesmeister was flown by Reach air ambulance to OHSU in Portland. Police expect him to survive.
Police said the driver of the Civic, Megan K. Goss of Portland, was taken to a Salem hospital. Her 18-month-old daughter was taken by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.
Police expect both Goss and her daughter to survive. Both adults were wearing seat belts and Goss' daughter was in a child safety seat during the crash, police said.
Lesmeister's van was registered to a Seattle electric company.
