Deputies investigate deadly crash in Troutdale near Reynolds HS
TROUTDALE, Ore. – One driver died and another was injured Wednesday in a two vehicle crash on SW 257th Avenue near Reynolds High School, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash was reported about 11:15 a.m.
According to investigators, a driver was heading south on the road when they lost control of their pickup truck and crashed into a northbound sedan.
The driver of the sedan died in the collision.
The pickup's driver will survive the crash injuries and is cooperating with deputies.
Law enforcement closed off SW 257th Avenue between Cherry Park and Hensley roads to investigate the crash. Officials expect the closure to remain in place for several hours.
Rain is being considered as a possible factor in the crash, however deputies said they have not determined the cause.
Any witnesses are asked to call (503) 988-7300.
The sheriff's office is withholding the deceased person's name until family members have been notified.
"MCSO urges everyone to drive safely in wet weather conditions," officials said in a press release. "Leave extra space between vehicles and travel at safe speeds!"
