Up to a foot of snow expected to fall at Timberline Lodge
GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. – It’s time to dust off your ski gear; snow is falling on the Cascade passes.
Big, wet flakes were falling at Timberline Lodge Thursday morning.
Although the ground was still too warm for the snow to stick, vehicles in the parking lot were coated in a layer of white.
Overnight, the snow level was lowered to 3,800 feet. That means the ski area could see up to a foot of snow by Friday night.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that’s in effect from 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday for the northern Oregon Cascades.
That’s good news for skiers! Timberline plans to open its Palmer Snowfield over the weekend.
As the ski season approaches, Timberline is looking to hire employees. They’re holding a job fair on Saturday and they need to fill hundreds of positions.
Be sure to check the road conditions on TripCheck.com before you head into the Cascades.
